On Tuesday, April 15 over 100 grandparents visited campus to share a
day in the academic, athletic and social life of St. Andrew’s with
their grandchildren. The two generations convened in the main common
room after fourth period, and the visitors accompanied their
descendents to classes and then to a family style meal, where they had
the privilege of watching a brave III Former kneel before a classmate
and ask her to accompany him to the prom. Cheers and applause followed
this heartwarming spectacle. After lunch visitors attended a meeting
with Headmaster Roach followed by a student panel, where a group of
seniors fielded questions from grandparents about their experience over
four years at St. Andrew’s. Afternoon games brought students and guests
out to the sports fields, as St. Andrew’s girls’ and boys’ lacrosse
teams triumphed over opponents from Wilmington Friends and Sanford.
Visitors cheer for the girls' lacrosse team.
