St. Andrew’s welcomed students and parents back to campus for a
beautiful and busy day. Old friends shared stories of summer while
seniors gave newcomers a taste of St. Andrean hospitality, guiding and
helping them move into their dorms. After a morning of bustling
arrivals, greetings and introductions, Headmaster Roach spoke to
parents about the culture of the School and introduced the faculty.
Once the parents had departed, new students spent some quality time
touring the campus with their ‘big brother and sister’ seniors before
gathering for meetings with fellow dorm dwellers.
A cook out
dinner was followed by an evening Square Dance outside the gymnasium.
Students donned bandanas and cowboy hats for this longstanding St.
Andrew’s tradition, kicking off the school year with a burst of
boot-stomping energy. The band kept the dancers on their toes, and
students were still do-si-doing and promenading after the sun went
down.
